[2023/02/03 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guards for a discreet circle around you, and one of them, presumeably the leader, says, "Alright, what's going on here?"
[2023/02/03 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: No temples in the -immediate- vicinity; there are temples of course, and plenty of gawkers in robes.

[2023/02/03 15:56] Alicia Frakture: /me gets to her feet, dead body in her arms, completely ignoring the guards and most likely running past them looking for the nearest cleric looking individual."You.. you're a Cleric can you bring him back. I heard stories Clerics can do that, is it true?"
[2023/02/03 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guards close round, barring your way. The guy you talk to just looks at you, wide eyed, and makes a curious gesture, presumeably a sign to ward off evil. Meanwhile, the nearest guard to Debben says "Can anyone confirm your story?" The two guards nearest Leesha reach out to grab her shoulders.
[2023/02/03 16:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "This shopkeeper was here, and saw at least some of it," She's getting a bit stressed out now, suspecting that trying to play honest is not going to work out very well, but also not exactly eager to try and sprint away from guards who have much taller legs than she does.
[2023/02/03 16:01] Alicia Frakture: Leesha calms down a bit looking at the cleric."Look he threatened us I was just trying to knock him out. If you're a cleric please help. He said he had a family while threatening us. She doesn't even look at the guards."Now is not the time... trying to do something."
[2023/02/03 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guy in the robes just backs away. The guy who was trying to sell that blade both nods and shakes his head. "I saw him draw steel on the small one," he says, and there's a general murmur of assent from most of the onlookers. The guard who appears to be in charge looks at you both. "So he attacked you. Any idea why... say, aren't you the two who mysteriously appeared in the palace?"
[2023/02/03 16:05] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Incidentally. We were gathering supplies before we headed out on a mission for the Archmage," she answers back, mixing confidence into her voice, standing up a bit straighter.
[2023/02/03 16:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: The in-charge guard looks from you to the dead guy. "Search the body," he orders. The two nearest, who have hands on Leeshas' shoulders look at each other as if to say "why us".
[2023/02/03 16:08] Alicia Frakture: *Sets the body down."Try to do the right thing..." AS she watches the two guards with hands on her shoulders."I'd offer but... I've done too much." As she steps back.
[2023/02/03 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: A quick search of the body reveals: the sword. A small knife, a hunk of rather elderly cheese, a hankie (recently used...) a comb, and a scroll, which is passed to the senior guard, who unrolls it, turns it various ways and then shrugs slightly. "I'm guessing this is a price on your heads. Who wants you dead?"
[2023/02/03 16:11] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shrugs and then pauses."Wait... heads?!"
[2023/02/03 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Can't make head nor tail of this, but we can see the sum of a hundred gold pieces mentioned."
[2023/02/03 16:13] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "That's a very good question, one I'd like to know too. Who bothers to issue a bounty and not include where to claim it? Seems like a way to scam hunters and avoid having to pay."
[2023/02/03 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: "perhaps next time, ask them questions first, then kill them. Actually... no. I don't approve of killings here, and you two seem to be involved in some bizarre stuff. You said you're leaving town on a quest? Don't delay."
[2023/02/03 16:16] Alicia Frakture: Leesha grumbles and nods."Gonna buy some supplies than go." Before looking at the guy who tried to sell the dagger."And I am not buying the silver dagger."
[2023/02/03 16:17] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Of course, officer." She nods quickly at the chance to get going. "Shopkeep," she addresses the man, "I'll take the dagger, it may come in handy," and lets her show gratitude to the one who backed them up in a moment of crisis.
[2023/02/03 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The street vendor makes a surreptitious sign and quickly disappears in the crowd, apparantly not anxious to stay.
[2023/02/03 16:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She moves to pay the appropriate number of coins if the merchant doesn't vanish on them right away.
[2023/02/03 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: Oops. The vendor doesn't hear - or ignores you - and dashes away. Either they don't want to be mixed up in anything, or... -maybe- that wasn't a silver dagger...
[2023/02/03 16:19] Alicia Frakture: Leesha will step to the nearest food vendor and looks at their wares."Fair warning, I'm in a bit of a mood a lot of highs and lows today, so if I snap at ya I'm sorry ahead of time."

[2023/02/03 16:20] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Well, it means she keeps her money at least. Debben starts heading towards the closest gate out of town, and makes sure to drag Leesha along towards it for as long as they are in sight of guards. "The officer said not to delay, so let's not delay."
[2023/02/03 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: The crowd slowly dissapates, the guards take the body away, and a grumpy street sweeper starts scrubbing the cobblestones with a yardbrush. Nearby is a shop, that might have whatever you need for your travels. (Or, you can set off...)
[2023/02/03 16:22] Alicia Frakture: Leesha finds herself dragged away."BUt wait, we need food for the trip! I am not making bark soup again!" She speaks as she wonders how this looks to others
[2023/02/03 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: If the guards aren't watching too close I can duck into the shop
[2023/02/03 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: They're not overly concerned with your immediate departure, the "get out of town" wasn't that imperative. The shop has a large array of various household supplies. The shopkeeper peers over the counter. "Yes, can I help you? Are you looking for supplies?"
[2023/02/03 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Remember you got a spear, the only weapon you can use, and Leeshas' rather lethal wrench.)
[2023/02/03 16:26] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods and begins looking around "Food and some cooking supplies to start."
[2023/02/03 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: "we have apples? A sack to last you both for a week, one silver. Or some bacon, enough for three days, and a pan to fry it in, three silver?"
[2023/02/03 16:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We're going to be traveling out to the forest," she adds, looking around for supplies such as tents, ranged weapons, or other useful things. "...Actually, do you have flour?"
[2023/02/03 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Flour... yes, a sack to make bread for two for two days, two copper pieces. A fishing rod, five copper pieces."
[2023/02/03 16:30] Alicia Frakture: /me nods as she looks around, Bacon, apples. Cheese and bread if ya got it and a basic knife for cutting the food."
[2023/02/03 16:31] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Two sacks of flour and the fishing rod to start with then."
[2023/02/03 16:31] Alicia Frakture: Oh and a tent would be a good idea
[2023/02/03 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shopkeeper puts together... bacon, cheese, apples, a knife, bread, flour, the fishing rod... and cuts you a deal with the tent, that's supplies for two for three days and the tent for 10gp

[2023/02/03 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shop keeper nods happily. "Do come again!" they say, as they take the coins and you take the packages.
[2023/02/03 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben does a double check and makes sure they have a light weight cooking skillet as well. "If you have any oil that's on discount I can make use of it."
[2023/02/03 16:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: "A silver piece for a bottle of cooking oil and the skillet."
[2023/02/03 16:36] Alicia Frakture: Oh wait one last thing for me, I need three waterskins..
[2023/02/03 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: "One copper for the three, since you're such good customers!"
[2023/02/03 16:37] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Excellent," she confirms, paying for the goods that seem like humble kitchen supplies but will be useful in adventuring as well.

[2023/02/03 16:39] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at her outfit, *Which wasn't covered... what are we wearing?"
[2023/02/03 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Just "normal" clothes. Breeches, tunics. Nothing fancy or hardwearing.)
[2023/02/03 16:41] Alicia Frakture: Leesha sighs."Show me what ya got in leather. Nothing too fancy."
[2023/02/03 16:41] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Durable leathers?" She takes a look at what they have that would fit her and not obstruct her casting.
[2023/02/03 16:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's not a -huge- range of armours. For a spell caster, a padded outfit offers minimal protection but no difficulty in casting spells (4gp). A leather outfit would offer better protection (5gp), and a leather outfit covered in metal studs would be 20gp. Some ring mail would be 110gp, but offer the best protection of all.

[2023/02/03 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: It will, not hugely, though.
[2023/02/03 16:46] Alicia Frakture: I could go for a leather top and a coat if you got some with spikes for the coat that's fine, but need 'em in my size."
[2023/02/03 16:47] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: /me hmmms at her wallet, noticing that the food supplies rather heavily tapped it out, the tent in particular. "I'm two silver short of the leather outfit."

[2023/02/03 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: (The leathery kind, with metal rings attached)
[2023/02/03 16:51] Alicia Frakture: Yeah just the top, forget the coat." She looks over."How are you on getting stuff.?"
[2023/02/03 16:52] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Remembering, she checks the inside of each boot she has, retrieving her further supply of coins. "I'll go for the Leather outfit then, the extra protection may turn out to be critical."
[2023/02/03 16:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: You are now both armoured and lighter in gold coin.
[2023/02/03 16:56] Alicia Frakture: Let's get out of here while we still have some gold on us
[2023/02/03 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: As you head to the nearest town gate, you pass a commotion. It looks like four guards are descending into the sewers, on some kind of investigation.
[2023/02/03 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben gives the horrid smell from below a wide bearth.
[2023/02/03 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( Also what AC is the leather outfit? ))
[2023/02/03 16:58] Alicia Frakture: Leesha does the same as she continues to the gate
[2023/02/03 17:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: Exiting the gate, the road to Ravens Roost beckons, long, straight, and past many fields... (AC 8). The sun starts to sink in the sky, and it's late evening when a caravan of carts bearing great logs of wood rattle past, the drivers eyeing you as they pass by, offering up muttered greetings.
[2023/02/03 17:02] Alicia Frakture: Leesha waves politely as she walks by."Once past them."Any idea why we have a bounty?"
[2023/02/03 17:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's very late in the evening as you finally make it to Ravens' Roost, a fortified house with a small courtyard. Two rather bored-looking guards lean on the walls, either side of the large entrance, watching as you tramp up to them. (You have as much idea as you have now - ie., none at all)
[2023/02/03 17:03] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben waves back as well, moving to the side of the road. (Logs coming from roost to city, ye?) "About five ideas and no good way to pick between them."
[2023/02/03 17:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Someone clearly needs a lot of wood in the city.
[2023/02/03 17:05] MidnightMinion Cyberstar:
[ Debben has Appraising, as it happens. She might be able to tell what sort of construction they are meant for. Does the city have a shipyard or major construction going on, by chance? ]
[2023/02/03 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: Appraising is more for gems etc. The logs are just that, as far as you can tell, great long logs, a large number of them. Perhaps a new building is being built, or a ship being built in the docks.
[2023/02/03 17:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She also waves to the guards as they approach the fortified house. "Two travelers, wishing for a place to rest."
[2023/02/03 17:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: One of the guards doesn't even pause munching on their apple, just nodding, grunting and shrugging slightly. Apparantly you're welcome.
[2023/02/03 17:13] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods and heads forward, making sure to keep an eye on everything around her
[2023/02/03 17:14] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She heads in, taking the time to wipe her feet as needed.
[About how far are we from Raven's Roost proper? ]
[2023/02/03 17:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: Crossing the darkening courtyard, you ascend a few steps and finally enter Ravens Roost - a large hall filled with various drinkers. As you step in the light, everyone turns to look at you, and the chatter stops, becoming complete silence.
[2023/02/03 17:15] Alicia Frakture: /me looks around."I got something on my shirt?"
[2023/02/03 17:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: A female figure at the bar lifts up their glass of ale and wanders over. "You finally made it, friends! I was beginning to think I'd have to come out looking for you."
[2023/02/03 17:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: (And that would be a good place to stop... it's now so late, it's early!)
[2023/02/03 17:18] Alicia Frakture: *Arrrggghhh the cliffhanger. Gets me every time :)*
